How do I create my toco wallet?

Once you have been added as a toco beta tester you can sign up on either our mobile or web app.

How to set up your wallet:
Download the toco app from the Google Play store (Android) or the App Store (iOS).
Enter your contact details and validate your email address (we will email you a one-time code).
Name your wallet. Note that when people send money to your wallet this is the name that will be displayed in their transactions.
Save your 12 secret words in a secure location. This is very important. If you need to access your wallet on a new device or lose your passcode, you will have to enter your 12 Secret Words. Toco does not store your seed phrase, so if you lose it, you may lose access to your wallet.
Set a 6-digit passcode
Optional: Set up your FaceID or fingerprint for easy access.
Verify your wallet. You will need a form of identity document (ID, passport or driver's licence) and proof of address (e.g. a utility bill).

What are tocos fees?

You will pay a 1% transaction fee when you pay in tocos. It is free to create a toco wallet and there are no monthly account fees.

How do I verify my wallet?

Setting up a toco account is similar to opening a bank account, and we are legally required to confirm your identity. To verify your wallet, you will need your ID, passport or Driver’s license and proof of address. Once you have created your wallet select "verify" and follow the in-app prompts.

How do I buy/add toco?

To add toco currency to your wallet:
In the app click "Add toco"
Enter the amount of Toco that you want to buy.
Select the currency that you want to buy. It will display the associated cost in that currency given the prevailing exchange rates. Note that you can then change the amount in either Tocos or the selected Fiat currency and the other value will change accordingly.
Select the payment method. The available payment method will depend on what country you are in and what currency you are paying in. Credit card is universally accepted (note that you can also buy using Apple Pay or Google Pay). If paying in Euros you can choose to pay via direct debit from your bank account.
Follow the prompts depending on your selected payment method and add the associated payment information.
Confirm payment.
Once your request has been processed a confirmation screen will appear. Your toco balance should automatically refresh & display your new balance amount.
